Discover stories that inspire, connect, and captivate.
This book is the international equivalent of Melody’s Australian memoir, A Dolphin Called Jock. It is published by Greystone Books in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
In it, Melody delves into her relationship with the wild dolphin called Jock in Adelaide’s Port River. Her connection with Jock and his unconditional acceptance of her helped Melody heal from a childhood wracked by domestic violence, culminating in her father going to jail.
The book explores how Jock and the other Port River dolphins taught Melody how to love, find hope and reconnect with the natural world. She explains how her dolphin companion, who was never fed, cajoled, or enticed helped her understand herself and spark a life-long passion to protect the ocean and help others impacted by domestic violence.

So well written you will feel you are actually in the water with them…an inspiring book about love in its purest form.”
